Ball and chain leg irons
Object : Chains
Two heavy iron ball weights connected with chain links.
"Those are called walking ball-and-chain. They were a gift to the museum from the Friends of the Ash Grove Museum on our opening day and Jenny Smith and another fellow named Tom Miller were responsible for giving those to the museum, they came from Jasper County, which is another county near Joplin, Missouri."

"That is called a screw lock...and is a gift, that belonged to my great grandfather and it was a wedding gift from my mom. It was kind of a gag gift, she said "now you guys are bound up."
