The OAAHM's finest items are its quilts and furniture. These goods, handmade by African Americans in the Ozarks, were functional items, used to warm beds and make homes hospitable. When looked at from a contemporary standpoint, however, it is impossible to ignore the technical skill and fine aesthetics that went into crafting these items.
